Mark Allen Watson, 49, of Gallipolis, passed away on Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, West Virginia.

Mark was born October 30, 1960 in Gallipolis, son of the late Bill Watson and Phyllis Jean Sheets Lane who survives him. He worked for the Gallipolis City Schools and formerly worked at Jobs and Family Services. He was an avid Cleveland Browns fan and enjoyed camping, sports and NASCAR.

Surviving are his daughter, Wendi Ferrell of Gallipolis; two grandchildren, Eric and Michael Ferrell; his mother and stepfather, Phyllis Jean and John Lane of Gallipolis;
one brother, Brad (Crystal) Watson of Gallipolis; stepbrothers, Chuck (Tammy) Lane of New Haven, West Virginia and Mark Lane of Gallipolis; his maternal grandmother Helen Sheets of Crown City; a sister-in-law, Donna Watson of Point Pleasant, WV; nieces and nephews, Nick Watson, Morgan Watson, Bailey Watson and Tyler Watson, all of Gallipolis and Kellen Watson of Point Pleasant, WV; several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Mark was preceded in death by his father, Bill Watson, a brother, Mike Watson and grandparents, Garrett and Mildred Watson and Leslie Sheets.

Services will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Brother Monte Sheets and Pastor Marvin Sallee officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, July 16, 2010 from 6-9 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Bill Lee, Bill Bennett, Bill Moore, Keith McGuire, Kevin McGuire and Mark Lane. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Watson, Chuck Lane, and Bobby Bates.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donations in Mark’s memory to Gallia County Relay for Life or the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709.
