Leona Greene, 88, of Crown City, passed away on Thursday, July 8, 2010 at the Holzer Medical Center.
She was born November 19, 1921 in Gallia County, daughter of the late Samuel M. and Bertha Glover Waugh. She was retired from Gallipolis Developmental Center where she worked as an LPN.
Surviving are three daughters, Frances (Harold) Dillon and Dolores (Forrest) Fisher, both of Crown City, and Brenda (Paul) Nickell of Dayton, Ohio; a son, Leon (Fleeta) Greene of Gallipolis; a sister, Rosalee (James) Johnson of Grove City, Ohio; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Greene of Crown City; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Leona was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Oral Greene, three sons, Oral Otis, Neil Roger and Roy Lynn Greene, two sisters Goldie Williams and her twin sister Leota Waugh.
Services will be 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, July 14, 2010 at the Willis Funeral Home with Pastor Darrell Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Swan Creek Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday, July 13, 2010 from 6-8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be John Greene, Keith Allen Randolph, David Short, Kendal Fisher, Walter Gooldin and Glen Gooldin.
